How to Propagate Roses
- Prepare a pot with 50% perlite and 50% soil/compost.
- Find a bud that just finished; deadhead it, and then clip six inches below it.
- Clip off all the leaves except for the top most pair.
- Clip a diagonal at the bottom of the stem to get the biggest surface area of exposed stem.
- Dip the stem in the rooting hormone powder.
- Stick it in the pot and pack the dirt around the stem with your fingers.
- Mist as often as possible if hot. Direct sunlight is good; if not, plenty of sunlight. Wait a couple weeks.
